Vuosaari road tunnel under renovation in 2026 – Access to Ring Road III (E18) via detour
On 6 January 2026, an extensive renovation will begin in the Vuosaari Tunnel, forcing the tunnel to close for about one year. During this time, traffic will be directed to a detour from Ring Road III via Itäväylä, Kallvikintie and Niinisaarentie to Vuosaari Harbour.
It is likely that the detour will face congestion, especially when ships are being loaded and unloaded. We recommend that you put aside more time than usual to get to the harbour to ensure a smooth start to your trip.

Detour route during tunnel renovation
Vuosaari road tunnel will be completely closed for traffic as from 6 January 2026 because of extensive renovation. The closure will last for approximately one year.
The following detour is available for traffic during the closure: Vuosaari Harbour – Niinisaarentie – Kallvikintie – Itäväylä – Ring Road III (E18).
